Fitting Exmoor Trim Highbac Seats in an 04 DCPU
Morning,

Hopefully someone can shed some light on this! As I've not found much online or on the forums...

I've got an 04 110 XS DCPU with the 60/40 bench seats in the rear, imo these are not overly safe or even that secure! At one point (sooner than later ) I would like to fit some better, more comfortable and safer rear seats.

The first ones that caught my eye where the Exmoor Trim highback seats like so-

I think they look good and keep to the Defender 'feel' only thing is I have no idea how they fit. Everything I have managed to find online states I need to fit the older style individual seat frames but how? I've only got two mounting points on each side and nothing in the middle!

Any other suggestions on rear seats are most welcome!

Cheers

Yes you would need all of the frames and bracketery from this style of seat.
I have these in mine, each seat is on its own frame and then there are 2 outer and 2 double inner brackets (to make up the brackets for the 6 legs of the frames on the 3 seats) the "rest" and locking mech on the angled bit of the front of the tub are also different so you'd need to make that up too, you'd also end up with a fair amount of spare holes where your old brackets are... Wink

Funnily enough I have some photos on my phone that I'll attach shortly, as I'm thinking of going the other way as I'm changing my rear tub to a 2005 tub which has the holes and some of the bracketery for the 60/40 seats and I'm not sure I fancy adding all of the holes from the individual seats to an otherwise perfect tub, haven't fully decided yet but if you do change I may be interested in your 60/40 seat and all of the brackets Smile

Cheers

Thats a pretty awesome offer, how come you want to swap back?

From memory the middle seat frame has "wings" at the back that one of the outers then rests on to stop it flipping forward, to flip/roll the middle one forwards you still have to have one of the outers flipped as well.

Mine always had individual seats like this but I just replaced the old basic/square vinyl base and backs for these XS exmoor high backs, but two reasons I'm thinking of swapping to the 60/40 setup, I'm rebuilding and basically replacing or refurbishing everything, as part of this a "new" (2005) tub is going on and that had 60/40 seats fitted so has the holes in place for that style of bracket.

Secondly I think it would be handy for my use to be able to fold the seat backs down flat for storage and maybe roll/flip the seat forwards if needed as well - with the high backs you can't do that as easily as the headrests hit the front seats and also the bolsters mean they dont like going flat, you certainly cant roll them forward due to the headrest/length of the seatbacks so worth thinking about if you need to do that.

Cheers
