I tried out some G4 Scratch Remover and bloody hell I'm impressed.
Close ups, roll over damage is practically gone! Click image to enlarge I did get a bit carried away and ended up doing half the car... Used a waffle sponge with a drill attachment, then jet washed it again with a Karcher spinning brush attachment (which is fantastic for cleaning, It's really quite brilliant), dried it and waxed it with another drill sponge. Got to say I'm bloody impressed with how it came out! Going to do the rest of it this week! Continuing with the G4 scratch remover and some polish! Did the other side last night
Click image to enlarge Forgot to take shiny pics Refitted the acoustic cover to the engine, been a LONG time since I've had one of these fitted Click image to enlarge Going to leave it on for a couple weeks see if it actually makes a difference in noise levels.... In other news the second row/rear stainless carpet retainers arrived, currently not fitted as my carpet was wet  so letting that dry off first. Brake master cylinder also arrived, genuine LR as described, or at least as far as I can tell... Plus off to France off roading in a couple weeks! Bought a new SLR Lens for the occasion! :D Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

That is impressive Bankz, nice shine to it, will have to learn to do mine one day, looks an easier way than doing it by hand 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

Big update! Fitted the SP LR stainless door threshes all round, a lovely improvement. Sprayed the rear with two coats of acid etch to stop and potential galvanic corrosion
Click image to enlarge Then it was off to France for some off roading in the sand! Havnt got that many pics as the day was fraught with breakdowns, mainly springs dislocating and one blown diff (mine ) One mishap! Well recovered though, with no damage. Click image to enlarge Both shot out the rear! Video from just after my front diff blew, I thought the bang was a spring relocating Does make an awesome noise though Remains of the diff - Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Luckily a had a spare diff sitting at home! and the splines/shafts/CVs where undamaged, all repaired and running now Sadly I did have a couple flat spots when at max revs in 2nd, turned out to be a tiny boost leak at the EGR blank where I tapped in my boost gauge! All solved now thanks to Jose at TD5inside! Who also retuned the 110 for an uprated MAP sensor and a little more power (only a bit a promise ) Early estimates put it at around 195bhp and 460nm torque (to be confirmed on a dyno soon enough) Click image to enlarge It really does have bundles of torque and almost zero turbo lag. Its brilliant! Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

Did a couple bits over the weekend.
Cleaned my rocker cover with some plusgas and scotch brite, came out rather well I think! Click image to enlarge And insulated all my A/C pipes with some pipe insulator from B&Q for all of £2.50 and a roll of foil tape for £3 Click image to enlarge Not exactly pretty but it has made a difference! The A/C is actually cold now but does need to be re-gassed! Main issue is LR in their wisdom thought it would be a good idea to run the A/C pipe so close to the main coolant hose it actually touches! There is more than enough space in there to have to pipe run away from the coolant hose! Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

Had a brilliant weekend out on the Salisbury Plains! The 110 did brilliantly with zero faults bar a cracked headlight, that I JUST fitted!
Not many other breakages either, a Disco blew a diff and the other Disco blew the HG on the way home but thats it. 110s first wade! I went rather slow as no snorkel... Check that flex! Fun in the mud Not been this muddy before! Nice pic Testing the water Wasnt even the deepest point - Very deep water (same as above) so we attached a safety line to my 110 just in case, it was needed. No smoke no poke!
