TD5 Interior Lights only activated by drivers door.
Is it normal for just the drivers door to activate the interior lights in a TD5 Defender?

For the life of me I cannot recall noticing it before. Guess it is just one of those things I have taken for granted... Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Could this be just a setting in the 10AS alarm module?

Check the switches on the other doors.
Connections, function etc.

Remove wire and touch to earth, light should illuminate.

If the other doors are rarely used then the switches can start to play up Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Am I right in remembering the door switches earth through the mounting screws? My driver's door one was a bit sticky but freed up easily enough.

If you have diagnostics, it's easy to check.

Look for passenger door and driver door. Just work the switches and they should show you high or low.

All doors are passenger doors while driver door is separate.

Failing which if you can't solve it, just connect them all to the driver door. It doesn't make a difference. The only difference is that the eka is entered through the driver door, so now you can also use any other door. From the land of the most expensive land rover defenders on planet earth. Thanks guys. Ok. Well I replaced all the switches a year ago, so perhaps it is a bad connection through the retaining screw. Kinda strange that they have all gone faulty at the same time.

Hi Achuakh I do have a nanocom, but I am still getting to grips with it. I assume that the this is in the 10as section. Will go and have a look.

Another job to add to the list Rolling Eyes

Had a similar issue on ours with the passenger door. turned out the clip wasn't seated right on the switch.

It was as simple as take it off and seat it back home... done! Chris

Hi Bogwert, same here Thumbs Up that is all it turned out to be. It is amazing how you can take automatic lights for granted, to the extent of not being certain that it has ever worked... Ludicrous... Rolling Eyes

I'm sure there must be a better switch solution than the factory. It's a pretty unreliable design! Laughing 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon
