There is no loyalty either way.
Its purely a business transaction. Phones, Insurance, Utilities, Main dealers, Supermarkets etc... They just want to maximise their profits from you the customer Now. Loyalty may exist whereby you can build a genuine relationship with a smaller, maybe local business. Eg a local Butcher, a local Car Repairer. You scratch mine and Ill scratch yours.... Loyalty is a two way deal. Ask if they can match the quote, send them the written quote so they can compare it and see if it is like for like. It may be slightly different and if they adjust theirs it might match or beat the Flux quote.
Annetts & Orchard are a broker not an insurance company so give them the info they need to be able to shop around on your behalf and you have been loyal HR064 Hampshire and Berkshire 4x4 Response |

I rang A&O and spoke to Dan (a really nice guy i've dealt with before) and he said I had to go with Flux as they can't match their quote. If I was flush at the moment it wouldn't have been an issue as I love the personal touch from A&O but this year I have to switch to Flux purely for the cash saving. It nsucks that the company who's insuring my car appear to give Flux better quotes than the smaller brokers.

I hold no loyalty to any companies.
Weather I continue using them is based purely on value for money, how they treat me, availability. Having very recently had to deal with a huge insurance company who were being the usual bag of snakes I can confidently say that they are all one and equally as bad as each other and I hold no loyalty to any of them. Loyalty and friendliness exists from insurance companies in the very short time they are giving a quote and at the time when you give them the long numbers off your card, as soon as that transaction is complete loyalty and friendliness finishes’. Yes agree no loyalty. My insurance came through for our FL2 which was quite a lot more than last year. A quick go compare search came up with the same company (on line is different apparently) for £120 less.
To cut a long story short after telling them I waned to cancel they seemed to switch hats and completed my on line quote whist I was on the phone and I saved the £120 I think it is because its all to easy to let the Direct Debit/ Card Details run and they just ramp up the price because most of us are too trusting! |

I think you'll find they'll shortly be taken to task.
There is a gov petition up regarding young drivers for a start with over 150k signatures on it. They generally are weasels and as suggested, take the cash piece of paper and that's pretty much it. There are two points in the above.
First, the OP says someone went out of their way to give exceptional service so they could drive home. The reason they did that is to create that brand/customer loyalty. However, you don't need to pay over the odds. I'd pay 10% over for that level of customer service, but not 30%. Second, someone says 'I'm not loyal to any company, it's about price - how they treat me - and something else'. Isn't how they treat you the customer loyalty bit? They treat you well, you go back. You mean you'd bin someone if you could get the exact same thing for a quid cheaper?
I shop in a well known furniture emporium up North called Arighi Bianchi. It's not cheap, but it is quality. My mother went there to buy a chair. She is a pensioner. She's looking at something in particular, not expensive in the great scheme - couple of hundred quid. Sales person talks to her and the one she wants to see isn't in the store. Salesman calls someone and the obligatory lad in a brown warehouse coat arrives. "Take Projectblue's mother (name withheld - he doesn't know me, or that I am PB) to the warehouse - use my car. Help her pick the chair she wants and bring her back here" "Yes Mr Arighi" says the lad. Takes my mother in owners Range Rover to the warehouse. She buys the chair and then they arrange delivery. Mother went shopping and went home. Bang on time, Mr Arighi arrives in his RR and brings the chair in. I could shop in many places, but I always go there, 250 miles away, first. And six or seven big purchases in (bed, dining table and chairs, sofa, wardrobe, blah blah) and I'm yet to be less than thoroughly impressed. Anyway, back to Insurance. It's a tough business. On the face of it, an expense we are forced to have but rarely (if you are lucky) use. But you find out what you pay for when you claim. Take NFU - not the cheapest but unbelievably brilliant when you make a claim (buildings not cars this was). It's many years since I worked for a big insurer but here's my spin on it.
Loyalty really used to work especially with a broker - put your cards on the table. Next really compare the cover & consider a higher excess or additional security to your vehicle. I suspect & I have no proof but if you have a claim with AF you could find that it would be a very steep learning curve with regards to any claim. Next you need to look at who actually underwrites your policy & then google them...... You could consider instalments until your cash flow improves. Clearly IF you are not going to have a claim this time around; ignore all of the above until next renewal Guy May your life be like toilet paper ; long & useful. |

I do have some loyalty to the NFU whom I insure my Defender with. In the past 8 years I've been happy with the service I have received plus there's the fact that the cost has reduced, allbeit by a small amount every year thanks mainly to a loyalty bonus scheme they run.
Every so often I do have a look around on the comparison sites and yes there are cheaper policies listed on them but not allways with the extras that mine has as standard, the towing of trailers and drive another insured vehicle with the owners permission for example. There are other extras which if wanting like for like cover starts lifting the cost from other insurers. Needless to say if this years quote is vastly different then I won't be shopping around, there's loyalty and there's being taken for a ride. |

Prices always seems to either stay put or go up. This year i am looking at moving the insurance on the Defender now, due to it been a 4x4. I can see brentacre winding up the price even though i have been with them for years now. I might even switch the 306 over too. They say the give you a discount, on having two cars with them, but i cannot really tell. The two cars were only £10 difference that was it. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
