I would be sure to remove all trace of diesel off your tyre if you do use it
The tiniest amount of spilt diesel on the road turns the surface into an ice-rink and takes the lives of many motorcyclists each year the world over. Cleaning a tyre with the stuff should be a last resort. White spirit could be a consideration but long term affects of using any form of solvent on your tyre could be something to think about and it may be a slip hazard too. Perhaps use anything sparingly and give the tyre a very good clean to remove any solvent/fuel residue as soon possible afterwards. Phil |

Would deflating the tyre ( to 10psi for example) and then moving the vehicle forwards and backwards through one wheel revolution help flex the paint off? 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon
