Insurance company which one?
Hi all. Part from the obvious A-Plan insurer can you suggest others for a modded 2009 defender? Cheers

http://www.brentacre.co.uk/ they are really good with modified cars, they insured my Rover metro VVC for a number of years with out any bother. So they should insure a tooled up Defender, Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it!

I have my much modified 90 (including engine transplant) insured with NFU Mutual with absolutely no problems over the last 17 years. My only advice is go to your local NFU office as I have hear that their NFU Mutual Direct is much less flexible and easy to deal with.

I have dealt with the NFU since 1984 for business, house and vehicles and I promise you the service is at least equal to or better than that shown in their TV adverts!

I insure my TD5 Discovery through Heritage Insurance (a division of Norton Insurance) as the NFU do not offer cover for the type of business I do (Specialist Occupational 4x4 Off Road Driver Training) and I moved to them when AIG withdrew from the market last year. Heritage jumped at the chance to organise a bespoke policy to fit the particular needs of my business and at a price that is ever so slightly cheaper than my previous policy which was through my Trade Association. I am not saying this policy didn't take some correspondence to organise but it's a one-off policy at present so a fair bit of tweaking was needed but this was made very easy by my Client Manager who was a delight to deal with. Again I can't recommend them highly enough.

I maybe should clarify that I have a very low Claim History with a windscreen claim 8-9 years ago, a 3rd party vehicle claim (no fault my side) in 2003 and my most recent claim (my fault) was 1994.
