[For Sale] Series capstan winch

I have this Fairy capstan winch that was fitted to my Series 2A when I bought it about 15 years ago. About 10 years ago I rebuilt the 2A, but never got round to refitting the winch, and it has sat in my parents garage ever since.

I remember using it to pull logs etc, so it was all working. If I turn the driveshaft by hand, the bollard turns, so I assume it still all works as it should.

Included is the winch, roller fairlead, driveshaft, the mechanism to engage the dog clutch, and one of the brackets to mount the clutch.

Unfortunately, when I rebuilt the 2A's engine, I fitted the drive dog that bolts to the crank pulley, in anticipation of one day fitted the winch, and have since sold the vehicle with it still fitted!

Also, whilst emptying the garage for a house move, the other bracket to mount the clutch was lost - but i'm sure one could be made easily enough.

I think that is an Aeroparts winch rather than Fairey. I'm sure repro drive dogs are available.
Period accessory for Series 1 owners, good luck.

Yep, that's not a fairey, I've got a fairey on my series 3 and looks much bigger and more heavy duty. Good luck with the sale, they are a real good piece of equipment

Thanks for the correction. Out of interest, were there different models of Aeroparts winch? I had thought Fairy because the pictures or Aeroparts winches look to have different drive mechanisms to mine.

That is definitely and Aeroparts winch - I have one on my Series One. Euro-Leafing to infinity and beyond.....
