This part number is for a Disco 2 which apparently does not fir a Defender. The correct part number appears to be PRC6913, so will compare that to the relay in the fusebox to be sure. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

I believe PRC6913 is the timer and relay for the TDi models not the TD5 which is ECU controlled and should only be a relay.

Could well be, I guess the parts system classifies these as to/from VIN number so if yours is close to the cutoff there might be some confusion. PRC6913 is definitely the timer and relay for a TDi which lives under the bonnet on the bulkhead. The TD5 relay is standard size with larger terminals and is under the drivers seat.

A Td5 definitely uses a standard 70A relay for the glow plugs, the timer function is in the engine ECU.
The Tdi timer ECU/relay unit PRC6913 isn't applicable to the Td5, no matter what year. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

TD5 glow plug relay is controlled from the engine ECU. So just a relay, no timer.
When the engine is cold and runs on low RPM, the ECU energizes glow plugs on running engine. It was a bit surprise for me, hearing unexpected big loud click of some relay, when I was working on 130. In Discovery 2 this is not hear able, the relay is not in seatbox, but in engine compartment. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "BlufĂnek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo |

That's a couple of times that Dan has quoted the wrong part (unlike him). I wonder if Microcat Live is playing up? 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
