does anyone have the nakatenenga heater box?
considering it to house an eberspacher. just wondering if anyone has it and if you have any pics of your set up. am really struggling to find a place for it in the 90. cant go in the battery box, no space due to 2, cant go under the drivers seat, compressor in there. wheel box top is another possibility and easy for inlet/exhaust, but not an especially elegant solution.

Could it fit in the under cubby box safe, and then just cut the holes needed.... or would it take up the whole thing?

The safe is: 40x26x13
D2 heater : 31x11.5x12.2

I think you would also need the mounting plate for the Eberspacher so that would probably mean the safe wouldn't be high enough to accommodate them. Also the Heater console is 100eu cheaper than the safe.

I'm not getting any auto notifications re replies to this for some reason. Anyway, thanks for the responses.

Alan, there is a photo (of sorts) on the site, I just wanted to know if anyone had one.

The under safe thing isn't tall enough unfortunately, not with the mounting plate, and as Brian says, its a lot more expensive.

Well the elbows good thanks. Although i've only hit it once one each elbow its alright, its more of where to put the arm to be comfortable while driving rather than hitting your elbow (oh and changing gear). I do however have a lock box fitted on top at the minute which is quite high, i'm gonna try and remove the lock box and fit the original cubbt box on top to see how that feels. If it work better there may be a lock box up forsale soon. Thumbs Up

The box is the same width as the original cubby box (maybe 5mm smaller) and there is loads of room in there and its not a sealed unit. when I fitted mine I made up 2 rails the fit underneath so i cound use the 4 rivnuts the original box mounted on. The rails rn the length of the box and have been threaded near the front for the front fixings of the box. Now you'll notice that when you take the original cubby box out there are 2 wooden rails that are tapered to give you the right angle so the top is flat when installed which means to get the top flat I need to raise the back of the boxes up about 16-20mm, doing so would then give you a bit more room at the back of the box (if you were gonna fit a heater in).

I would cut the bottom of the box away, and sit the heater on the floor just make a new partition to give you a safe storage area at he front and room for the heater at the back.

Now just for a dsclaimer, I don't know how big the heater you plan on fitting is so this idea may not work, but having safe area at the front and a heater area at the back would be better than just a box full of holes Thumbs Up Russell

Right here we go then guys.

In this is the lock box on top of the under cubby box (which might be up for grabs soon Mike). The lock box has 2 fold away cup holders and you can see that I have cut a hole in the middle for th lock of the under box. The 2 holes in the front of the under box you can see are for 2 20A 12V sockets which are supplied with the box and I need to fit at some point.

Here you can see that with the under cubby box in place it doesn't foul the transfer box lever.

The back of the box fits flush with he rear footwell front. the lock box has an overhang because it is originally designed to sit as far forward as the under box like in the picture above.

The lock box is central to the under box and the original mountings

Right now for what you've actually asked for!!!
The four setscrew heads that you see in the bottom use the mounting holes that come pre drilled in the bottome of the under box. The 2 at the back are screwed into the original rivnuts and the 2 at the front are screwed into 2 brackets that I made.
The brackets (which I don't have a photo of at the minute) are just 2 lenghts of aluminium flat bar approx 5mmx50mm and i think 13 inches (it was going spare). I drilled a hole in each end of the bar to suit the orginal rivnut locations, I then covered them with some stickback black foam to stop any metal to metal contact.
Once the holes were drilled I fitted the brackets in place using the front holes, then installed the under box and bolted through the box and bar into the rivnuts at the back. This then enabled me to drill and tap 2 M8 holes for the front fixing (again M8 setscrews and tap was in handy reach).

At the back of the under box there is a step up to over come a bolt and the metal box secion that runs along the back of the seat box. it measures approx 1"x3". you can slow see in the photo below that there are 2 cut outs again to miss existing bolts.

The front of the box is glat and square, just like the defender Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

And this is what it looks like when it is open. With the lock box on it stops at this angle by hitting the back seat.

Great pics, thanks for doing that Thumbs Up . Am writing this on my phone so apologies if you covered it, but did you add the floor in the under cubby box? or did it come with that floor?
