Can anyone help me with the heated rear window switch on defender Td5 (2003)

Switch part number is YUG000470LNF
Blue plug connector is YPC10525

I am trying to work out what the numbers 1-5 on the blue connector do. I believe pin 3 is not used.

Cheers

Split to its own thread instead of with the tow electrics pinout Smile

1. White/Green [WG] +12V Ignition feed from fuse 14 via header C0285
2. Red/Orange [RO] +12V illumination from fuse 20 via header C0290 and C0296
3. no connection
4. White/Black [WB] 12V output to heated rear screen relay coil and dash warning lamp via header C0286
5. Black [B] Ground for telltale lamp and backlight

There seems to be an error on the 2002MY diagrams I have which has the ground connection on 4 in one place on the diagrams and 5 in another Rolling Eyes I have cross-referenced it with the Puma (same switch) and the Td5 electrical library and it is definitely 5.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Thanks for your help guys.

I would like to use this switch to turn on/off an interior led light, I know they say it is not suitable for switching direct loads but do you think it would ok to operate an interior led light?

Cheers.

Absolutely fine for that.

The switches can't switch large power loads (e.g. heated screens) but they can handle reasonable loads - for example the heated seats are switched directly.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
