Thanks for the reply Blackhat90. We have removed the oil pick up pipe & strainer and it is clear. We have also removed the timing chest & oil pump and inspected it. It is fine and looks perfect? Also we have removed the oil relief valve and it looks fine and no damage. How would you test the output of the oil pump? Via pressure switch location? I would like to know what has caused this issue as it has me stumped. Thanks again |

You"l need to connect an oil pressure gauge, [ fittings can be connected to the oil light switch], mine is putting out, 50 lb/ft ,
when cold, drops to 35lb when hot, 300tdi coverd 330,000 miles,,,never had a spanner on the engine , |

I removed the pressure switch and no oil comes out on cranking or running! This has done 180,000 but we only recently bought it for my parents. Its a 300tdi EDC auto. Its strange that there is no oil pressure at all and that's why we pulled the timing chest & oil pump to inspect. It has me stumped. So we are pulling the complete engine out. It would be nice to find the problem and kept it as a spare. |

The Major is a 1960 Power Major. Its my Brothers we use it for wood splitting, topping and with a tipping trailer. Its a rolling restoration....we rebuilt the engine after a major failure! So it has new pistons liners, bearings throughout another head and new valves. We have the badges and new grills but not fitted them yet. We use them every weekend for jobs at home! They are great tractors. I have pictures of the rebuild but these are of the piston after the valve smashed through it and resealing the rear main after it leaked after rebuild. I have great friends that i use to help on a farm and they had a Power major, super major and one that we called "the six" power major with the six cylinder engine fitted, just loved them
Yes i have just one at the moment a International B414 and has a front loader and the weight to go on the back, dont use the loader much, had it for about 25 years now When i first got it, it ran ok but after a year something was wrong, we thought it was the head gasket, so took the head off and gasket was all ok So it turned out to be the front piston liner, so at that point a total engine rebuild and to this day starts first time every time I'm hoping one day to put it back to its former glory (when new ) 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.
