Without wishing to promote howls of protest about 'new-Bond isn't as good as old-Bond', we currently have some very special memorabilia from Spectre... Bollinger obviously have a huge presence across the current Bond films - the numbered bottle of Bolly, signed by Daniel Craig is the first offering... Then there's the Day of the Dead poster, limited edition, numbered and signed by Sam Mendes. All by association - not ours and likely to be making a move when our daughter and her boyfriend have completed their house refurb but there are all sorts of crew-related nick-nacks kicking around! |

I will hear no bad words about Daniel Craig. I think his Bond is really good and have enjoyed all of his outings so far.
Now Sean Connery and his toupe was good, I didn't mind Goerge Lazenby. Quite happy watching Timothy Dalton, never minded 90 minutes with Pierce Brosnan but for me, Roger Moore was king of the cheese! He went on far too long and looked almost pension like in his last film. The girls he got off with in those last movies could have been his daughter but this was the Bond I grew up with and he was the spy with the Lotus that went underwater!! The Esprit was made just down the road from me here in Norfolk and this was really a big thing round my area when they choose Lotus as Bond's car. I'm not saying I wouldn't mind Dan's Aston Martin though. Probably be more reliable than an early Esprit |

Now, for my mother's 40th birthday my step father bought 'her' a Lotus Esprit Turbo, the last of the Guigario designed cars, pre Peter Stephens, 1987, in silver with a red leather interior. I was about 14 at the time and dear god I coveted that car. D27 NJV if anyone knows where it is. I definitely didn't take it out anywhere when my folks were away and spin the wheels through all the gears, that certainly didn't happen.
What I didn't appreciate at the time was quite how brave it was to buy your other half something you've always wanted, but you live and learn. The sales receipt for out first 110 arrived when Mrs H came out of hospital with sprog no. 1. The sound of an Esprit Turbo HC at full chat is a beautiful thing though.... |

Sad sad day when they put the Esprit out to grass. Yes Huttopia, they sound amazing!
Lotus as a company has had a really scary ride since Colin Chapman left this world, but they have produced some amazing cars during their time. |
