Hi Guys,
The door seal on my 90 keep detaching at the top of the jamb. Can these be stuck and if so what is the best thing to use? Thanks. |

You should find that the seals have a metal insert which can be squeezed tighter. I would be a bit cautious about using silicone sealant. I used a slow setting black mastic when I did mine. Easier to remove if you change your seals later.
Cannot give you the make as it was over 20 years old, but you should find some online. |

Just squeeze the channel in the door seal together, pinch along it with a pair of waterpump pliers as they usually have a better profile on the jaws than normal pliers. if it still causes hassle then perhaps run a strip of masking tape along the edge and fold the sides up either side of the door frame. The cheaper the tape the better as it generally goes all tacky anyway and is easier to clean up than silicon.

Black Tack. Take a look at below thread. http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic33097....black+tack The ebay seller mentioned in the thread and from whom I bought it does not offer this anymore, but others like below do now. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peters-Spares-PS...SwmtJXXnYL Now after having it in use for more than a year for sticking back an upper section door strip I can confirm it works perfectly, it has not solidified, and if you want to remove it you just peel it off.
