I have triple rate progressive springs from IRB developments on my 90. The first inch or so of travel is softer than standard the second part is the same as standard then the last part of the spring is harder than standard. These paired with bilstien dampers makes for a really compliant and controlled ride
Unloaded the suspension is really supple and with a load or towing it doesn't sag excessively and is still comfortable. I used to run wheel spacers before I changed my wheels, I was never keen on them because you are doubling the number of wheel nuts that could become loose and you are increasing unsprung weight which is detrimental to ride quality. The dampers have a harder time controlling the axles. I'm sure that I read somewhere that rotational unsprung mass is the equivalent to 5 or 8 times the same weight as static unsprung mass. Wheel spacers definitely improve the look and steering lock though 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |
