Reverse Light not working
My reverse light doesn't work, bulb is fine and there is 12v at the terminals so I'm very puzzled. Any suggestions? 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Have you checked Earth continuity.
Most likely the switch, usually start this time of year when it's colder.
Replace and hopefully all sorted. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

If it was either of those things would I still be measuring 12v in the bulb holder? 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

As mentioned a few days ago in another thread, I have seen a failed reverse light switch which showed 12V at the lamp socket but which dropped to 0V when the lamp was plugged in.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

^^^^ Sounds about right, the reverse switch is earth switched too I believe.
As soon as it has current draw on it it won't work.
Interestingly, I found an LED light would, Incandescent wouldn't.

Maybe try it if you wanted to upgrade, unless you already are using LED?

The thing is if your measuring voltage at both pins, that means it depends also on the earth in question and not it's continuity or capability of carrying current.

They are known to be problematic, I've had it myself.
I never touched my switch I found fitting an LED light solved the issue. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

If its the round type of reversing light, the usual culprit is corroded pins in the connectors requiring a new plug and bulb holder.

It's switched on the 12V path.

Swapping to an LED isn't really a fix for a dicky reverse light. Although it may light it will not be at full brightness.

The switch is cheap just a bit tricky to get to. A long straight spanner (22mm?) from underneath does the trick.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Slight hijack
I have the same problem.....
My new to me 2007 90.
I am currently changing all lights to LED & I started with the rear lights.
To be honest I don't know if the reversing light was working or not before I started the job.
Anyway it doesn't now.
I have 12v at the plug but it won't light an led or the old light or the old fog light. It won't even light my test light either using
A separate earth or the earth in the plug.
So I assume this means the switch is faulty......OR is it something else?
Is it fairly obvious where the switch is?
Who makes the best replacement switch?
TIA
Guy

Just an update. Fixed today with a new reverse light switch on the gearbox. A hateful job when you have big sausage fingers like me. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

How did you get at it from in the end? $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

A combination of over and under.

I took the panel out under the cubby box. From there I could disconnect it (just), loosen it with a 22mm spanner, and unscrew the old one. But I couldn't articulate my hand enough to put the new one back in from there, so I did that from underneath. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

My reversing light was flickering and intermittent. Replaced the gear box switch today, but a hell of a job. Researched this forum for advice. A dealer technician said that the L/R procedure is to remove the gear stick. Followed Bluest procedure and removed the cubby box and access plate. Scratched knuckles and a 22mm ratchet spanner just about managed to replace the switch. Impressed with those who replaced the switch from below with no disruption.
