Could you use or modify something like these perhaps?
Having used these to hold the ladders in situ use a padlock thru the thumb latch to secure it and prevent removal perhaps? 2015 HT XS 90 2008 SVX 90 2000 XS TD5 90 |

ta so far.
in terms of temp versus permanent - they need to be removable as I may need to use them the fastening looks good (tho not quite sure what the first one is for - backing plate?) - assume they would attach to bodywork just above and below windows. But will the alu body be strong enough to support the weight on rough tracks without widening and ovaling the holes? |

The first is the plate normally welded to the trailer tailgate which the thumb latch passes thru before being closed and I only posted the picture to try and show what I was suggesting, I guess on sand ladders there are already so suitable holes the thumblatch could pass thru prior to being closed?
Perhaps the use of a backing plate would help distribute the weight on an alu body? Perhaps a forum member with metal work knowledge or experience can suggest a suitable method for using the thumb latches? 2015 HT XS 90 2008 SVX 90 2000 XS TD5 90 |
