This will be an emotive thread Laughing I have just removed mine and very much prefer it without. I was never going to use it for its intended use so it was a visual extra as far as I was concerned that was put on by the previous owner so off it came recently and I prefer it without.

Imo Mick yours at the moment looks better with it off as the snorkel looks to big and cumbersome, a different snorkel may look much better Thumbs Up

Sulisuli, yours looks much much better with it off Thumbs Up 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

Took mine off a couple of months ago....

Actually, had forgotten that I'd done it until reading this thread. Clearly makes little difference in my life.

The standard LR one is a pretty naff plastic thing,, so if purely for the look then better without it!

I quite like those Mantec/gen ones.

'Learned' internet logic says keep it off, but if it's already on you may as well plug up those holes right...

Unless you're wading that is, but who actually wades that deep in a nice new puma ?? lol

Nice vehicle by the way, I'd love a 130 but parking round town... Big Cry Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...

Aye I took it off after a bump and reading all the gen of restrictions of air intake left it off

Yours looks better off but that might be more down to the ugly design of the oem one.

Either way a very nice 130.

If your pictures are truly representative, then taking it off also brings the added advantage of snow, so then definitely leave it off Thumbs Up

My truck that I felt might NEED one (V8 petrol in Syrian dust), had one; the rest that didn't, didn't.

Says it all, really...

I think it looks better on but I've only ever liked snorkels on 110/130s. I've never thought they look good on a 90.

I've just fitted a southdown snorkel which a) is sealed through to the airbox b) is a much lower 'profile' compared the side mounted jobbies and c) fits with a roll cage.

With regards to flow restriction, I'm running a BAS 170 remap and there is no noticeable difference.
To be honest, if you look at the standard air ducting that came out, for most of it's length it is only 70mm x 42mm

OEM off and replace with a Safari Snorkel much more in keeping with the Defender look.
