I got fed up with the horrendous turning circle so decided to get out the spanners and jacks to adjust the lock stops.
Got another half turn on the steering wheel which is great. Anyone struggling with a Defenders turning circle should do this first it makes such a difference! I then took it fully loaded with family and coats and bags and boots across the Ashdown Forest for a Christmas walk which was great fun but as I was des-driver I didn't manage to get any shots Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197 Self confessed mileage hunter |

So she heads back to SHB
Gave her a good clean to make sure that there was no comeback from the dealership who hired it because the relationship is sort of. Thorny? Mudflaps fixed and given a going over. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Now some figures. I picked it up on the 5-12-16 with 10,000 on the clock and 3/4 tank of fuel. It now sits today 29-01-17 with 12,850 on the clock and half a tank having had 2 weeks off over xmas doing nothing much its has been doing the same as my 200Tdi. During that time I spent £608 on fuel or used 520L of fuel so an average mpg of 22.6 which is pritty bad to be honest. I was expecting much better of it given it is years advanced of my nearly 26 year old 200Tdi which manages 32mg doing exactly the same thing. I will miss it though, the updated dash is nice to use, the buttons and switches are nicely laid out, there is no question it is far quieter than my 200Tdi and that is with no sound proofing more than a base spec 110 CSW. The heater is much better too so I will need to look at my one when it gets back. Hopefully the exchange will go well tomorrow and this one will go off to its next adventure with someone else. Heh, heh, only a Land Rover owner would repair a hire car before repairing it Darren
