Hi,
does this fit on a Defender? Also, is it able to lock brake + throttle? I think clutch + brake won't be enough. cheers Frank |

No, it only blocks brake and clutch, but I don't see the issue f you put the car in gear and the handbrake on.
I've one and once you're used to it, it's installed in less than 10 seconds. But you need to do it properly and make sure it is fully closed, otherwise it might open. Give it a good shake and a push toward the floor. I have also noticed that it locks a bit more easily when slighty tilted to the left, it probably depends on the pedal adjustment. You'll need to adjust the length of the lock with a setscrew so it doesn't allow downward movement. Mine is the X-model as the Bullock website suggests, but several members of the Belgian club have the L-type. Usually I store it underneath the passenger seat, you can just slide it underneath snugly with only the handle sticking out without annoying the passenger. As far as the 17 minutes are concerned: apparently it does have a weakness, which iIl presume will be known by professional car thieves. And since a defender is quite high, one is not awkwardly bent that low when trying to sabotage it. Regards, Joris |

Also like to add that it comes with two keys when new.

I guess it's better than nothing. However, you can shift gears without using the clutch, so throttle (and handbrake) is all you need... |

I've used one of these for many years on my series one runabout. They are so easy to use I put it on every time I park up, even if it's only to nip into the paper shop.
It may be possible to drive away without clutch and brakes, but it certainly wouldn't be easy. When parked at home or for longer periods I use additional security measures. You will never stop determined thieves, but if I can slow them down or make them look for an easier target all the better. |
