If you have no tool to do it with, you can give the nut a very sharp tap with a chisel, or punch on the very edge.
They usually spin off ok 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

No worries! Actually, if you had a reference or even a picture (or maybe a link on Halfords' website), maybe I could try to find it around here, who knows

Thanks all for the replies
I'll keep the chisel as a last option (I'd rather avoid damage), meanwhile I've ordered a couple of adjustable pulley holding tools from the interweb and I'll see how it goes. Or else I'll pay a visit to LR, they must have the right tool for the job I'll post the results if that can help others. |

A while ago I needed on in a hurry, so I made my own -
Click image to enlarge It's just a length of 50mm wide x 6mm thick strip steel I had kicking around in the garage, used a 44mm hole saw for the cut-out and 12mm drill for the holes to slip over the pulley bolts, works a treat I later added the smaller cut-out at the other end (40mm) for the Disco 3 fan. |
