United Kingdom 2016 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 HT Keswick Green
Mine is blowing slightly warm air in just over a mile, and takes three miles of city driving at up to 40mph for the gauge to get to normal.

It's been down to -4C this week and with heater on max and fan speed 2, the gauge was starting to drop back below the normal in slow moving traffic. Compared to my old Series 3, the heater can only be described as volcanic.

Meant to say mine is also a 2015 .

Mine is a 2.4 circa 2008. Its warm after 1 mile even in the last couple of cold days the needle is just off the blue section. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

Yes I was upfront with them about it and they said thats fine. In fairness I have used them for 20 years and had alot of various landrovers from them so they have always been very good with me. 2015 HT XS 90

do NOT rely on the gauge to know when your engine is warm, as it is not accurate!

Rather fit an EMS to see the actual temperature. As an example, by the time the gauge goes to the middle in my Puma, the coolant temp is actually still around 50C, and it take a lot more driving before it gets to 83C-90C. --

no problem, I was also relying on the temp gauge prior to fitting my Madman EMS.

As an example, my daily commute is about 10km, and the temp gauge shows operating temperature within 5-6km (in summer). But the actual coolant temperature only shows 83C-90C after I have driven for over 15km!

Most of the time in winter, the engine is not even at operating temperature by the time I have parked at work. --

Quick update having done 1500 miles since the thermostat replacement and all is good. Temperature gauge sits at the half way point after 5-8 minutes of driving dependent on the ambient temperature and the heater is like a furnace Very Happy 2015 HT XS 90
