Road tyres are defined by their tread pattern rather than their height so that won't solve your problem.
Some alternatives are to fit smaller tyres - 90's used to be offered with 205/16 tyres, but they are pitifully small. Something like a 235/70 (standard Disco 1/Range Rover size) would fit but you'd need to change a small plastic gear in the transfer box that drives the speedo to make it read correctly. Another option would be lowered springs. Quite a few on the forum have gone down this route to solve similar problems (or because they like the look) so a quick search will bring up some details. Slightly lower it would probable be your better option.
That way you keep axle clearance but you have a slightly reduced body height. Alive have some good options I believe. |
