Installing LED bars
Hi there!

After thinking a lot I found a pair of LED bars for less that US$27 in USA.
Very positive comments in Amazon and after 1 month are working OK.

Very happy Smile

I too took the plunge and bought a 52" lightbar from Germany on eBay early days but they are amazing.

I've been looking at the smaller ones to fit in the holes in the bumper near the lower A/C Grille? around 20"

Mine would be purely for driving in the lanes when it pitch black? What does the e mark mean on the light? would this type of light fail an MOT if it had a separate switch.

I would not drive in traffic with it on? it would be as you use your main beam I guess and turn them off with on coming traffic.

Thanks

I've wired my lights into an carling switch which is totally independent of normal driving light circuits, this is the same set up on my work lights. I've got an XS so no spare switches on dash so have installed a roof console. Like all auxiliary light it's best practise to install with a switch which clearly illuminates so the drive knows if they are doing wrong on public highway.

My Roo spots aren't 'e' marked either, I'm fairly sure it's not legally required as they are not obligatory lights.
The switching of roof light bars tends to be an unknown area.
It used to be generally understood they should be indipendantly switched from main beam, since many have found it's nothing to worry about.

'E' marking is down the the bloody EU clowns, it's a mark of conformity.
It doesn't mean alternatives I.e. From the USA are no good, it just means pretty much but EU goods only or it's illegal.
Germany centric basically. Rolling Eyes

The USA has many good lights and various things that we cannot use thanks to this stupid little thing. WeWillWin🇬🇧🇺🇸

My belief of roof lights is they aren't legal on highway so, didn't bother with wiring them into full beam.

Yes indeed! Managed to lock myself out of the forum and ended up with a nanocom from the group deal here 🙂
