Have the injectors been reinstalled each at the same place as before? They differ a bit and have been assigned a number which must be programmed in the ecu. If one mixes up their order, the values have to be corrected in the ecu (or the injectors put in the right place of course).
I presume your indy is aware if he knows Land Rovers, but one never knows... Greetings, Joris |

Like you I would like to think he has. I have read some horror stories on the net of injectors being damaged when replacing the seals?

take it back and get him to plug it into diagnostics.
Look at the injector correction figures. I think + or - upto 2 is alrite. Over that and you've got injector issues which you could pin on him damaging them when he changed the seals. 2003 Defender 90 Td5 CSW Belize Green - "Betty" 1958 Series IIA 109 Station Wagon - "Randolph" - Awaiting Restoration 2019 Jeep Wrangler JL Rubicon - SOLD 2006 Volvo V70 D5 - Ocean Race Edition, SOLD 2003 VW Passat Estate 1.9TDI - SOLD 2008 BMW 320D M Sport Estate - SOLD 2001 Defender 90 Td5 Hard Top - SOLD |

Thanks adseybear. Called him this morning and he said drive it for a few more days to make sure the diesel doesn't entry the oil again. I think he's taking the mic! I don't like driving it at the moment, feels like I may be damaging the engine. He did say it would not damage the engine and fine to drive but it doesn't feel right. It was running so smooth before he had it.

I don't see how "driving it for a few days" will suddenly make it better. Perhaps you should drop an aspirin in the fual tank as well!
Mechanical parts either work or not. |

Not necessarily diesel_jim, if it has a good nights sleep and a run around the park before you drive off to work, it would probably make it all jump back into place and start working correctly!
Do you have a another garage you could take it to for a second opinion? Chris 2014 Discovery 4 TDV6 HSE 2003 Defender 90 TD5 CSW |

Chris
Just worried he will say because it's been some where else he may say they have done something to it. It had a health check prior to the remap by Alive and all was good and they are prepared to put this in writing. |

Is it possible you're now running a standard map?
I presume he didn't do an injector learn and thought he was being helpful by putting a LR map into ecm? Presumably he knows it was mapped before it went in? Last edited by Caterham on 4th Mar 2017 6:27am. Edited 1 time in total |

Yeah he knew it was remapped, I asked if the work would effect the remap. He drove it after I came back and said he could tell it's mapped and it drivers fine. But he didn't drive it before he did the work. I have driven it every day for two weeks since it easy mapped and know it's not right! Feels strangled, lumpy and has a bit of vibration. I drive the same roads to work every day and there is a steep hill on the way that it would fly up in forth, no struggling in third. I have spent 550 on new maf, remap and oil change, then 245 for injector seals. I hate confrontation and I feel this is not going to end well. Proper stressed out with it.
