Awesome cars, and if I had £8m, I'd certainly blow £7m on one. At last year's Mille Miglia there were quite a few. Obviously the MM is an event for '27-'57 cars but many modern and classic Ferrari's, along with many other modern and classic cars were taking part. The sound of a LaFerrari blasting off the ramp and along the streets of Rome was incredible, a really blood-curdling noise and probably only bettered IMO by the sound of a Matra LeMans car from the early '70's 🙉

It was sold at a charity auction, so as with the 2m defender the hammer price has very little to do with the car's intrinsic worth and more to do with the charity and the largesse of the giver.

Whilst we are talking of mega bucks, I see that Afzal Kahn has his reg no. F1 up for sale at a cool £12.25m. Ironically it's on a web site called "Plates 4 less". I guess he comes from the school of "if you don't ask, you don't get." Defender 90XS SW
