I have a complete Perkins Prima engine conversion for sale. This came in a 90 which I purchased from a member on here. Unfortunately I do not have any history for the engine but it runs fine and starts nicely, these are getting very hard to find now. It is a little smoky but this is probably due to the fact that it has not been used for a number of years and had some really bad smelling/looking fuel in it when I got it. I had one of these engines in my S3 109" and it was brilliant. Obviously there are lots of other common engine conversions available for 90s/110s now (i.e. tdi) and this would possibly be best suited to a Series vehicle.
The engine is very light and compact and with the conversion bits included should bolt straight onto the 2.25, 2.5 NA/TD or 200TDI engine mounts and mate to the LT77 or stumpy r380. I believe this is the same converter plate that I used on my own conversion so should bolt straight onto the series gearbox too. The conversion consists of: Perkins Prima engine Inverted defender TDI radiator/intercooler pack with oil cooler Defender metal header tank Fuel Filter and Housing (Possibly TDI) Conversion Engine mounts Alternator Starter Flywheel Housing Adaptor Plate LDV LT77 Bell housing Flywheel & clutch (LDV/Sherpa I believe) Air filter and boost hoses coolant hoses oil cooler hoses Full Exhaust (for 90 - mid/rear in poor shape but good as a reference) boost gauge Throttle cable Clutch Slave It is currently coupled to an early LT77 which looks to be in good condition looking through the shifter recess. There is no wear visible on the output splines. I have had it in all gears but reverse always jumps out (this could have been due to a badly worn shift mechanism). I am looking for £350 for the engine and gearbox or £300 without. It comes with all of the bits listed above. It is currently still in the chassis so can be seen/heard running. I will remove the engine prior to collection and have an engine hoist to assist with loading. Cheers, Steve 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread |
