Battery terminals and clamps are slightly different sizes/tapers.
Positive clamps are marked P or + whereas negative clamps are marked N or - It might be worthwhile checking the markings on the clamps to check the correct ones have been used first. HTH Brendan |

Sometimes happens by a lot of removal and refitting.
You can either can get either a new terminal, but beware crimping them needs large tooling to do so. Or do as I did and carefully flatten battery post with a hammer, no need to go OTT but can flatten it just enough to allow tightening of the clamp. That's what I did and had no issues ever again, they are lead so quite easy to tap into a slightly larger profile. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

Hi Brendan.
I am use to seeing the clamp type fastening connectors this one seems to be a new Land Rover design preventing auxiliary connects being made. Hence the problem Thanks Paul Monty-2015 2.2 110 XS Puma Station Wagon Yoda Disco 3-Sold Larry Disco 1-Sold Muddly XS 90 TDCI-Sold Pearl Disco 2-Sold Larry Disco 1-didn't want too but sold |

If you do end up needing to put new connections on, as custom90steve the crimpers are big and expensive.
However there are other options. You can solder them in or there are crimpers that you hit with a hammer which are a lot cheaper. I have one of these, I like it and it works: http://www.12voltplanet.co.uk/heavy-duty-s...-tool.html If I was crimping stuff every day then I'd get the proper tool but this one does the job and and does it well. |

If you're buying one on the off chance you might as well pick up some terminals for it too
You can get screw on battery terminals that need no crimping as well. |

I think I got it sorted thanks too you guys.
The original fixing both has been replace with a modified stainless bolt. Then over tightened coursing the slit to part open causing a loose connection, used a screwdriver as instructed to reopen the slit, straighten out and refit. Job Done. Alarm isolation as per hand book, worked a treat so no upset neighbours. Another plus!
