I haven't tried them, but looking at the pics on Google it looks like a summer pattern road orientated tyre, so would expect to be pretty poor in winter conditions. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

After a quick Google it seems the guys across the pond use them in the snow with no real problem. (They are stamped with M+S)
The conditions today were unusual, about 2cm of snow settled on the wet road, so I can only guess the under layer froze which meant the snow was sitting on ice. I saw about 6 cars in the ditch on the way in to work though so I can't have been the only one struggling... |

Unfortunately M+S means very little when it comes to winter performance. Having the mountain snowflake is more important. Again, looking at Google that tyre has no sipes which are essential for winter performance, and large tread blocks. It looks about as far removed from a winter tyre as you could put on Defender. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

As a contrast if you look on Atturo's U.K. Website and compare the the AZ800 with the AZ600. They don't claim any cold weather abilities for 800, but do for the 600 and you can see how the 600 has sipes and smaller tread blocks. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS
