I used to get a steady 30mpg on my TD5 90 but now the weather has got colder I'm only doing 27-29mpg. Is this due to the weather or is something else going on? Mike

I tend to find its because everyone forgets how to drive because its raining or cold or dark so you spend more time in traffic stationary with the heater on Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197

Well I can tell when it's colder as the engine pulls a lot stronger, more dense air etc. So whether the ecu is putting more fuel in as a result I don't know. Also Shaggy has a point, heater on lights on etc adds to the draw from the alternator

Thanks for the input Guys. It was interesting in reading about Winter diesel in the Sates. Do our re-sellers of diesel do the same and swap to Winter diesel around now? Mike
