are the later 11MY springs on 90s and 110 not a stronger rate anyway for the N1 requirements? ie compared to the pre 11MY Def which i believe used the same springs across the model range as td5 Defs. Cheers

Wear is when something loses matierial causing failure and coil springs over time go weak but don't wear. I had a new TD5 that would bottom out with 500kgs in the back. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

cheers. i expect the 'confusion' has arisen where you have used the tech def for wear where as i epxect the OP was just expressing it as a term. Cheers

From what i remember CSW ones are dual rate as you say, other spec ones aren't. i presume you have a non SW TD5 then? This is the case for 90s, i think the 110s are now the same SW or USW etc.

Yeh i have a County hard top as i dont need to carry any passenger, only dogs and tools mainly but during harvest i normally have 200 litres of adblue in there too for the tractor.

Zinke, why not look at the Puma 90 CSW springs as they are now HD as standard? Much improved. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

Thats what ive been asking about! lol

I dont want a HD spring though, if they are changed for the 2011 MY to HD springs then i will get the 2010 MY springs if there is a difference. Just wondered if anybody else has done it or just making sure they are Duel rate and wanting to know when they where changed!

my 10MY came with HD springs - way to hard for my light loads so i have swapped them for standard road springs

i still have the HD springs just in case but to be honest i don't think i will be needing them in the future. the most i carry on the back is occaisionally 2 very large sons [one is 17+ stone rugby nut] and it does'nt drop much at the back as far as i can see.

apart from a smoother ride the only other difference is cornering, it cornered flatter with the HDs.

i put on -
90 4 seat station wagon (2400 Kg)
Rear - Driver's side RKB500290 Red/green/green
Rear - Passenger side RKB500280 Red/green/red

took off -
90 4 seat station wagon (2550 Kg)
Rear - Driver's side RKB500270 White/green/pink
Rear - Passenger side RKB500310 White/green/purple BM52

Red Dot srikes again!! Rolling with laughter
OME 751 on the front, 755 on the rear for me, still using standard shocks but lifts about 40mm due to the stiffer nature over the standard LR...ride can be a bit firm though unless you have a rack, drawer system etc.
Suits it though, goes round corners like a sports car Whistle You cannot teach stupid people to do clever things

-Topic Hijack- ! Mr. Green

Hi
I bought last week a pair of front springs - 110 HD NRC9448 and NRC9449. However on the board that Lorryman1000 posted it's written, among other things - Front drivers side and fornt passenger side - As my 110 is a LHD vehicle should I switch sides when I fit them ?

Thanks Regards
Joao

Yes.... the Driver side one tends to be either a little stiffer or longer (can't remember which) to make up for the fact you ALWAYs have someone in the Drivers seat.... Makes the Landy sit straight when driving.

Just another quick question, are the new ones you put on duel rate springs or not? Just looked at the puma manual and it says only the 90's with HD springs are duel rate but i thought it was all the CSW springs.

Many thanks

Pete.
