Front seat grab handles
Has anyone ever fitted grab handles to the front seat area, like you get above the second row and rear doors? 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Was mentioned here as part of a discussion of the MUD roof console:

Wish the member could elaborate a bit more - as it seems he did a great job.

Would be good to find a way. I want to get rid of my side steps, but not unless I can have something to grab to haul myself aboard. I did wonder whether something could be fitted to the windscreen pillar. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

To the windscreen pillar yes - I fitted the Nakatanenga leather straps.

Try first taking off a rear grab handle and fixing it to the A pillar - I think I used slightly longer screws.

Then see if it is strong enough and in the correct position to help you enter the cab.

Roof mounted one for me slightly better as a brace especially for the passenger when the off road going gets a bit tough - but may also be convenient as an aid in entering the cab.

It is not too difficult to fit a grab handle to the inner roof gutter. It has been covered here before:

Hello Bluest

Good question...my wife (when sat in the passenger seat) often (may be a reflection of my driving) goes to grab
the non-existent grad handle above her head... she calls them the JFC handles (with J standing for Jesus... Shocked )

I have been charged with sorting this out... Exclamation

Recently I've found these... from http://ruskindesign.co.uk
(not a great picture but the standard handle leather trimmed)

I'm going to see if this makes sense to replace all of mine + add the one my wife keeps reaching for in vain... Exclamation

My Interior has been re-worked generally but these handles look to be a fit.

Always thought Land Rover missed an obvious need here above both front seats and the A pillar area to aid getting in, another 'should get right' aspect for the replacement... SKIP

There's a handle built in to the end of the dash to help getting in. Darren

This was the mod I used for help getting in after fitting a QR steering wheel.

Regards to all Fletch.

Hello LandRoverAnorak

Dash Handle works ok better for getting out than in (IMO) as can feel too far forward
A pillar would be better for getting in as you can lift your weight up more easily,
above head grab handle is probably best 'in travel' as you remain in your seat...

Ah, sorry, I'd forgotten that they'd changed it on the later dash. All previous models include a vertical handle built into the end of the dash near to the A pillar. Darren

I just used a front door handle above the passenger door, screwed to the inner gutter. Useful for somewhere to hang your left arm 😊
