Some great feedback here. Thank you all.
Did consider the tuff trek tent as I already have their awning with room. |

Tell me about it Martin, at Peterborough it blew a hooley and lashed down.
My lad was in the awning with the dog and the wind lifted the roof off the poles and dumped it on top of him and flooded the tarp on the deck. I fell out of the roof tent still worst for wear (JD for you) and unbelievably he was still asleep. Soon sobered me up re-erecting the awning / walls in my bills and boots.... When its up and pegged properly its pretty solid and huge....Just make sure the flap that covered the zip is as flat as it can be or it will create a mini gutter that will fill and leak back through the zip.. |

Those that use a roof tent, do you leave on the truck all year round, take it off after summer is gone or after every trip. I left mine on and in this bad weather it has become sodden, so I've had to lift it off, open it up in the garage and bring in the matress to dry off in the house.
I thought that with the thick plastic cover it would have stayed dry, but obviously not. Bit of a shame really. R 300tdi 90 1996. Last edited by 90roy on 6th Nov 2016 3:38pm. Edited 1 time in total |
