More alarm problems

Apologies but I have looked thro' the various posts & I can't quite see the answer.
I have a 2007 90.
I have had the battery on / off recently.
My alarm on disarm sometimes will operate central locking - if it doesn't work first time it can then take a number of presses for it to work OR like yesterday about 50 goes & in the end I just unlocked with the key & set the alarm off.
I haven't tried a new battery or re programming yet in case I lose any settings etc.
Where is the best place to start looking to sort this out without creating more work
