If it's a Devon one then I fitted mine in under ten minutes (and I've rarely got a clue what I'm doing), it really is that simple. I take it you've found the instructions at http://www.devon4x4.com/download-document/...tions.html. Follow these and you can't go wrong. Thumbs Up Peter

Top present mse. Also very useful. I have one and they are very good but I think mine may give a slight metallic vibrating noise on gravel tracks. Has anyone else found this or is it something else rattling.

Mine is still sitting in the box, after unwrapping it on Christmas day!

I was wondering how to fit it so this thread has proven useful.

Thanks Thumbs Up MAD COW

Dead easy - 2 bolts, 10mm or 8mm i cant recall - the waxoyl already held the clips in, but i kept and eye on them.

Added some more waxoyl behind (an area i didnt do originally) and on the guard (something i do to anything i fit) and did up - nipped up tight not over tight. Mike

why wouldn't you tighten it up fully? There's quite a lot of vibration down there and you wouldn't want it to wobble off. How tight were the bolts when you took the originals out? One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

By tight i mean nipped up...i had a tendancy to overtighten (hang off) things and strip threads...i may check it - but i nipped it up firm

They werent done up too tightly - theres probably a low torque figure somewhere Mike

Hi

This protection is suitable for all versions ? I want to buy one for my new 110CrewCab ....

And by the way, do you know if the gearbox protection, also sold by Devon, can also be fitted on 110's ?

Thanks Regards
Joao

Fitted the fuel cooler guard just now (by torchlight in the end). Was paranoid about losing those spring nuts into the chassis but it was fine in the end - there's plenty of room to work with.

The transmission guard was another story, though. I was hanging off the spanner trying to undo the bolts in the transmission case and they wouldn't budge. I couldn't fit a socket set between that and the handbrake drum so will have to figure something else out another day.

Come to think of it, LR still have to do the recall fix on the transmission case gasket. I don't know whether that involves removing those bolts but it it does, I'll just give them the D44 ones to put back in so I can just bolt the guard straight on. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS
