As title im selling on behalf of a friend an ARB locking diff which is in a pegged housing recently rebuilt with new barings and seals ready to go. 3.54 ratio 24 spline used but in good working order.
This is a private sale no i cant accept paypal or visa card to my business, it will need to be cash on collection or bank transfer. my friend will accept paypal if the payment is sent as a gift and you pay the charges. The cost is 600gbp with free UK shipping. This would normally cost when new 1140+vat as you see it here as per the Ashcroft web site. ARB, Manual locking diff Where an application requires that the diff must be able to act as an "open" diff and a fully locked effect, the only solution is to fit a manual locking diff under the control of the driver. These diffs need additional external parts, compressor/pipes/ solenoids, etc Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge A method of strengthening the Rover differential If you are heavily off roading your Rover one of the first mods you will need is to change the diff centre for a stronger one be it either Detroit locker, ARB or other, once you have the diff centre up rated you may still experience a failure of the crown wheel and pinion gears. The reason for the ring and pinion failing is because when the diff is shock loaded, the pinion will push the crown wheel away as the diff centre flexes, once the pinion teeth start to ride up the crown wheel teeth this can allow the pinion to spin and take some teeth off either gear. "Pegging" the diff to hold the gears in constant mesh by putting a thrust pad behind the crown wheel, opposite the pinion, this means the pinion cannot push the crown wheel away. Im not sure about the 300TDi, you would need to remove a rear half shaft to see if you had 24 spline shafts ot 10 spline, 300 is on the change really.
