Hi, I have a few question I'd like to pose:
Sometimes I hop into the truck and it feels a bit sluggish generally. Other times, like now, it seems very lively when accelerating. Both from cold or hot and using the same roads. I read that the MAF (I think!)sensor can cause this. I recently bought a Nanocom on the collective purchase on this site and I'm wondering if I can use this to check the MAF value and compare it to other peoples running a similar truck. What do you think? I have also fitted a EGR blanking unit. I have read through the forum the cables to it should be disconnected so the ECU doesn't see it. The instruction only said to blank off some nipples where the small pipes were removed. Again, your thoughts and options would be welcome here. The engine is the earlier 10...... type unit. I've only had time to have a quick look at the Nanocom but one error that seems to be logged says "(1,7) Air Flow Circuit, (Logged Low)". There are others related to air con (that I don't have) and Tacho drive open load and another saying Gearbox/ABS drive open load (again, I don't have ABS) Thanks in advance, Mike Mike Hard Top 90 TD5 2001 Ford 100e 1959 www.youtube.com/mikemakesit |

Just unplug the maf for a week and see if you get your power back. Ray

If you have your Nanocom read the airflow. Maybe google the values but I believe they should be arounf 55 kg/s at idle and around 600 at full power and high revs.
always around 4 is a dead one but you can also have around 40 orso at idle and 350-400 at full load. Then is is giving wrong values and your Landy will have low power. As Roel said, 4.4 is the standard MAF reading when it's dead, it should read about 55 at idle.
Similar issue with mine a while back, a new MAF solved it but it took a few days for the ECU to recalibrate itself - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic48017.html |
