I like the looks of it apart from the wonky rear number plate. I guess they have set the plate to one side to echo previous discos but on this it just looks wrong. Got some good gimmicks but looking at the configurator i would guess you could easily spec one up to 75-80k which is just ridiculous for a car in this sector

I'm sure it'll be fantastic. Until the warranty runs out.

Not for me.

In fact, the more 'tech' cars get, the more I'm not interested.

I agree totally with all of these sentiments! Thumbs Up

I am sure it will be a great vehicle, and will sell extremely well in the sector at which it is aimed (no doubt before long there'll be hundreds on the school run). I am not in that sector (thankfully) and I will not be buying one.

It isn't what "Land-Rover" started off being about.

As Greeni said, the more tech there is in a vehicle the less it interests me. My next vehicle (if there is one, and I hope that my current fleet will last a lot longer yet) is likely to be either the best Disco2 I can find (which is right on the limit for acceptable tech content) or a 2.4 TDCi (or possibly 2.5 TD5) Defender which I'd rebuild into my perfect vehicle.

You can fold the seats from your mobile Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter I could find a use for that though when my mother in law sits at the back...

As others pointed out, they all do start looking very similar.

^^^ What's the point of that?

The attack surface of the vehicle must be massive! Let us hope that JLR's cyber specialists are well ahead of the criminal underworld, doubtful though that may be.

^^^^ Wonder if it's future proof too.
Will the system accept tech in ten years time, doubt it..

A few years and the hardware will be out of date and a newer model will be better and more advanced. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

I still think the D5 is being made less boxy and moved up the price range to make way for the new 'Defender' in a lower price bracket and boxier shape?!?! James

Disco sport on steroids with an evoque front end and f-pace rear lights Rolling Eyes

Efforts to make a "common identity" are going to destroy the individuality that attracts buyers to each particular model depending what they are looking for..

It could quite easily be the best car in the world and even wake me in the morning with bacon and eggs and tea for breakfast but there's no way in hades entire realm that I am ever going to hock the Jimny and the Jeep (and a huge amount of money ) against one. Way too bland and has no resemblance to the original, might as well be called the land rover bloated cash cow, would be more honest. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

I get family resemblance but the same car just different dimensions seems to be the current flavour...

At this rate the all new defender will end up being this same shape with a big black plastic bumper and all terrain tyres... Rolling with laughter Proud to own 110XS TDCi SW..previously 90XS Td5 SW

Even Land Rover Assistance are running about in Transit Customs now Rolling Eyes so definitely no commercial vehicle now produced by Land Rover.

That's because they were actually using normal D4's with a load bed installed - as it was a 'car' their technicians were done by the taxman for Benefit in Kind.

Seems like a monumental cock-up when they could have used Commercials but hey-ho...
