Cheers Veetee.

Looking at the great step by step guide I think it's beyond me to do. How much would a garage charge for this approximately? 300tdi 90 1996.

The job is not difficult if you follow the instructions, this job is one of our assessments for our CL3 to CL2 training for our VMs, they are only supervised and often not that good on spanners until they have worked through their booklet so I'm sure if you have some spanner knowledge you will be fine. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

Cheers Mash. I do have spanner knowledge but it's mainly on bodywork, brakes, suspension etc. I've never tackled a cam belt before. 20 years ago I may have tackled it, as when in my youth I removed and stripped engines in Volvos, talbot, mg's and minis but they were much simpler then. 300tdi 90 1996.

Engines don't come much simpler than the Tdi.

I'm sure someone nearby would be able to help you out - I would if I was closer.
