Hey Greeni,
Sorry my post maybe wasn't that well structured. I have fixed all the electrical issues (although I haven't tested the throttle yet) Swapping the IGN feed wire to the IGN terminal as opposed to the ACC terminal sorted basically everything! Are you doing the exhaust yourself, or taking it to someone?
The exhaust was a major factor as to why I didn't go for an LS! |

I had been planning on doing it myself. To that end I have already purchased a pair of catalysts, flexi joints, a 3" silencer, O2 bungs etc etc all in stainless.
I think however I am going to get it made. I got a tentative quote / estimate, using my parts, and possibly a second silencer, for a mandrel bent Tig welded stainless system of $1900 earlier today. Basically that allows for 8-10 hours of work and the various parts I haven't got. such as all the pipe and bends, along with hangars etc 2001 90 HT 6.0LS/6spdAuto. 2003 90 td5 soft top. 2014 90 XS SW 2.2. |

Its now at the exhaust shop. A mate towed it down for me and we dropped it off this morning.

Exhaust is done. I had it collected by a truck to get it home but have since done a couple of k's in it.

Quick video from the drive. Will get some proper clips over the weekend. I have done a few more K's in it now, and I can say it is comedy fast.
I tried my phone and SLR to get a decent recording of the sound but neither were very good really. This is from my phone. Need to fix my mud flap too! It has a built in 0-60 and 1/4 mile timer in the speedo... I may see what it will do for the 0-60 at some stage. 2001 90 HT 6.0LS/6spdAuto. 2003 90 td5 soft top. 2014 90 XS SW 2.2. |

Can't beat it. I like the transition from one gear to another on the auto and the tone of the exhaust on mine. Sad, but awesome!

Just had it successfully inspected and signed off for the engine swap, the auto, the exhaust and the fuel system.
Next stop the transport department to get the registration updated to the v8 and we should be good to go! (rego here is cylinder based. ie 4 , 5 or 6 , 8 or more etc) 2001 90 HT 6.0LS/6spdAuto. 2003 90 td5 soft top. 2014 90 XS SW 2.2. |

Thanks Peter,
Appreciate your comments. I will update the thread as we work through the issues we will no doubt find over the next few weeks. If anyone wants I can post up the spreadsheet that details all the parts involved in this project. Rgds Pete 2001 90 HT 6.0LS/6spdAuto. 2003 90 td5 soft top. 2014 90 XS SW 2.2. |
