1993 Defender 110 2.5 n/a Diesel ST Galway Green

[For Sale] Reduced 110 Ex Military Soft Top plus extra kit

For sale is my 1993 Defender 110 soft top. Ex MOD general service 110, disc brake rear Salsbury axle. 106k kms so roughly 65000 miles, thankfully power steering has been retro fitted. 2.5NA engine

Work that i have done recently as follows

Full service oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, differential, gearbox and transfer box oils all changed.
A frame bush, front seal and drive shaft flange changed on rear diff, plus new hardy spicer on rear propshaft.
Drivers footwell has been repaired, new section welded in, seam sealed etc.
Soft top treated with Fabsil and has no leaks all proper ropes straps etc present.
Wolf light guards fitted.
Centre tray fitted.

Chassis is really good for the age of the vehicle as expected in an ex military, large sections are still painted, any visable rust is only surface, still on original rear cross member.

Bulkhead is good apart from a little rust were bulkhead joins pedal boxes internally, the usual places, exterior and engine bay bulkhead are fine with just a small surface blemish starting to come through on passenger side (as per photo)

Civilian tow bar also fitted.

Body is good and straight bit of a dinge on passenger wing (as per photo) but nothing that doesnt add caracter, being ex military it has had a few layers of paint rolled onto it over the years so is a bit flaky in parts, again fairly common.

Mechanically no problem apart from when you are changing down through the gearbox (when cold) into 3rd gear it snatches slightly, but once up to temperature there is no issues. Front axle casing has been hit badly it looks ugly but it doesnt leak i was planning to swap it out at some stage. Otherwise its drives perfect.

Usual Defender issues, non locking door locks, very slow wipers, a few weaps from underneath, but nothing major.

This is an honest description of what is essentially a good example.

I am looking around £4750 no VAT but i am open to offers

I am only 15 mins from Larne port 30 mins from Belfast and around 2hours from Dublin. I am happy to pick up at airports etc. Alternatively i can arrange a transporter delivery to UK at an additional cost.

For anyone interested i have a load of photographs of which i can email, and am happy to show good and bad points as i would rather tell someone who buys it exactly what they are getting.

In addition to the above i also have the following bits and pieces which i will likely sell seperately, however if they help sweeten a deal on the 110 im sure we could come to some sort of agreement on some items.

Full set of Wolf or HD steel rims, 4 have been blasted but unfortunately not painted well (not by me), the other is in good condition with Michelin tyre.
Spare full set of Military style screw on lights as fitted, sides indicators tails etc.
Spare Defender steering box pipes and pump out of a TD5.
Galvanised heavy duty steering guard, needs sand blasted or something covered in a concrete or clay material.
Three laycorn storages boxes, fit perfectly between wheel boxes, in photo above.
Defender hard plastic spare wheel cover slightly damaged near bottom, but still looks the part.
A clatter of little fittings odds and ends etc. you know how they build up.

I still have SA80 front gun racks to return to standard for any enthusiasts.

Looking to take a break from Defender ownership for a few years, so looking to clear the decks, garage, garden shed, toolbox drawers etc.

In an effort to generate a little interest i will include all the items listed in the post above in the sale price, which i have just reduced.

As mentioned it is a good Land Rover, i was going to keep it, even had a 200tdi engine lined up to do a conversion. I am looking to sell up to pay off a few debts, pursue another hobby for a while, but i have no doubt i will return to Defender ownership again in a few years time when in a better position to do so.

Doh would help if I actually reduced the price

now reduced.

"Edited" rather than self indulging and adding another post, I was somewhat misguided on the price so have reduced further to what i have been told is a fairer more realistic price.
