Better securing door bolts
So with recent spate of local thefts of doors/bonnets (including the local police defender) I am looking at securing my doors and bonnet better.

I have ordered a set of security bonnet hinges so that's covered but I'm not sure what to do with the door hinges, I've thought about bearings in the torx hole but that's a last resort really, I considered some form of glue which may act as a deterrent and not be too much of a pain to remove with some time and patience should I need to remove the doors.

I have had a search but can't seem to find any different types of security bolts available.

Any advice greatly appreciated either by reply here or pm, I'm sleeping rather nervously at the minute.

You can get the anti removal flat head and tri head screws, or if you used nylocs on the inside and a washer/nylon washer stack, I suspect that any turning on the outside bolt would just spin the inside nut, at least for the back door.

Alternatively this sort of thing.

Or shear bolts, but then you're into the realms of having to grind them out later if you ever need to remove!

I've not got round to doing this yet, on my list of jobs.
I've bought some QuikSteel (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005O0366Q/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1).
Plan is to grind off a couple of the spikes on a Torx bit, fill the centre of the door bolts with QuikSteel, then use the ground Torx bit to shape the metal in the door bolt.
In this way, only my special bit should fit the door bolt in the same way as the locking wheel nuts work.

Like I said, not tried yet, I'll let you know when I finally get round to it.

I filled the holes on the front door hinges on mine completely with metal paste, sanded them down and painted them, and fitted shear nuts on the inside. A bit frightening on a brand new van and yes, they will be a pain to remove, but at least they ought to stay put.

I believe thieves only steal doors if you either own a police Land Rover or if you start a new topic with 'So', though, so you should be okay.

Oh, hang on a minute....
