Can't really help other than to say I think the Grabber AT has replaced the AT2, somewhat confusingly.

Phil the St max are a good tyre and sit between an all terrain and mud terrain , great in snow and ice too, they are more durable than the grabbers which are a tad soft, especially the sidewalls, but are slightly better in the wet.
Would look the business on a 300tdi as your unlikely to be hammering it around a roundabout Another option on a budget and for road work is the Cooper Discoverer AT3 which you can get for Around £80 fitted ! Nigel |

Not tried Generals on a Defender but had both AT2's and AT's on my Disco 3 & 4. I thought they were the dogs doo dahs in the wet on tarmac and were excellent for low level off road (ie muddy lanes and muddy fields)..Didn't try them on hardcore off roading though. Used them in the heavy snows of 2010 whilst driving our local first responders around and they were excellent. Yes I liked them very much. Defender 90XS SW

I have ST maxx's on my 110 in 265 width. I was concerned about road noise given they do sit as stated between an AT and a MT but it was unfounded. They are also very well behaved in the wet. I will definitely go for the same when replacing (which should not be soon given how little they seem to wear ...).
I just love them! |

Well I plumped for the ST Maxx's (235 85 16) in the end. Just couldn't get over the look of them. When the last two arrive they will be fitted on a stunning set of matt black ZU alloys (7 inch). Bit of a story about ordering them online though as no one local to me can get Cooper tyres. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

Please post when you get them all together.
I liked the Cooper AT2 but was put off by the hassle of finding somewhere to get them fitted. 1995 Defender 110 CSW 1971 SIIA Lightweight |

I have a few indy tyre places round here that are all willing to fit if I could get (they couldn't) so hopefully will be truck bound on Saturday. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

Grenadier,
It was your posts on that thread which made me finally dive in for the Coopers. Just need to get them fitted once the last pair arrive. Regards Phil 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper. Wide Track Sankey- In bits- Gone to a new home M0XQS |

Thanks Panda,
I need to find some localish lanes to give them a try out over and above their usual road and muddy track/field trips that they will get subjected to. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper. Wide Track Sankey- In bits- Gone to a new home M0XQS |

With the amount of tread left on your tyres miker I may end up pulling you into the mud in order to pull you out. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.
