Rattle in my ear
I have a rattle on a 2013 TDCi in my right ear. I think it's the door post and have removed and refitted trim and seat belt as well as secured wiring with silicon. None of that worked and now my wife is complaining of the same on her side. Any thoughts?

On my DC I had a similar rattle and found that the bolt holding the top of the "B"-post to the roof was loose on both sides. The factory, it would seem, had simply not bothere to tighten them up!

You can get a similar rattle from the doors if the shut needs adjusting, so before stripping out the headlining to check the "B"-post bolts you might want to try winding the window down 6 inches and pulling the top of the door hard inwards to see if that stops the rattle. if it does, adjust the striker plate on the "B"-post (and if necessary the hinges) to get a proper shut.

Make sure you have no load in the rear or something positioned somewhere that could rattle too.
Many a time it's been known for someone to think something is wrong when in fact it's an item stored somewhere.

You have probably checked but worth mentioning.

On mine it was the plastic covering the door striker, which had worn to bare metal, rotating it so the hole was facing 180deg the other way solved the issue Smile

Eventually when the newly exposed face wore itself, I swapped the front ones out with the rear units, and then finally got new ones. Bearmach were Censored , had to go genuine. Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...

^ Better still replace with X-eng strikers, they have a metal part in stead of that plastic thingy. Will not wear out and doesn't eat trousers... Laughing Thumbs Up

There is a flimsy strengthening plate above the seat belt spool - check that and it may require bonding to the body. I think this is flexing when the body twists which sounds like a rattle. Took me ages to locate but rattles no more Thumbs Up

x2 for this. the bolts along the roof line can come lose, but the ones on the B post often require a little tightening. Im assuming its a metallic noise if not the plastic trim can also come lose. good luck
