This happens on mine, normally when it is dry and been nowhere near water !
The sensor is on the bottom of the filter and is quite easy to find, follow the wires. They stopped fitting them at some point after 2001. A lot of people do away with the sensor as they are unreliable at best. If you can't see a sensor connected to the bottom of the filter have a look around for a plug that has no home. If you find one it is probably the culprit and full of water or mud giving the false reading. I always ignore the warning and have had no problems so far. I have a dirty connector but nothing for it to connect into No sensor on filter So I will ignore the warning light |

I stopped using super market diesel when mine came on and after a few fill ups the light went out and (touch wood) has stayed out. Adventure isn't paved!
