That crack will undoubtedly propogate with time, and whilst it may be OK for a while you will need to replace the manifold.

Hmm .. I'm tempted to go for broke and replace manifold and turbo for a hybrid one now that it's all apart on the drive. I shouldn't have to do this job again then! .. turning into an expensive day! 2008 Defender 110 XS SW - M57N2 / 6HP28X

On second thoughts I just seen the price of a manifold! .. .. I'll take it to get the turbo face skimmed and see what they recommend about the crack. .. else it may have to be ebay! 2008 Defender 110 XS SW - M57N2 / 6HP28X

Shouldn't it be the same manifold as for the 2.4/2.2 TDCI Ford-Engines? About 1/5 of JLR price

The manifold is knackered .. found a transit one on eBay £45 .. turbo is in good condition so skimming the face and put it all back together next week! 2008 Defender 110 XS SW - M57N2 / 6HP28X
