Thanks - managed to find your other posts after I posted the above - I'll have to get it taken apart and see if I can diagnose the root cause. Your posts have pointed me in the right direction

I recognized a strange noise from the engine bay this week. I'm going to check both heat shields:
JPY500060 - heat shield turbo charger (engine) KRO500330 - heat shield crankshaft position sensor (gearbox) I hope to fix it without new parts. Thanks, Bernd |

I should have kept quiet .. checked the turbo last week and found one stud has snapped, one is missing so the turbo is held on with the remaining one. Something to do after I've changed my knackered starter motor ![]() |
