Ready for the desert now...
After much reading of the forum I've now fitted proper front and rear recovery points so that I can easily recover/be recovered when we are in the desert.

It's a first four galvanised front sterring guard (amazing service from first four, 5 days from placing the order until it was delivered here in Dubai.

The rear is a genuine Land Rover Tow ball with Jaw and pin attachment, part number LR008244.

If I were you and it's for recovery rather than towing, I'd move the jaw up a bit.

Less likely to get caught on stuff and more in line with the chassis.

Hi

The drop plate is too low and will act as a plough. A nato, hitch would have been a better solution. It would be up high out of the way.

The sump guard will do the same, better to have fitted steering sleeves, then the sand can flow between the diff housings etc rather then being pushed by the steering guard.
