I would check new hoses are fitted correctly and that the intercooler is not leaking

Sounds like install issues rather than the tune to me.

Especially check the turbo hoses too, I believe the lower one is prone to coming loose as well.

I'd be straight back to the people that installed it. Get them to take it for a run and show them the problem!

OK dropped it off, they don't know what the problem is.
They are claiming its a fault with the car now. Apparently they can not connect to the OBD - now i don't know if this is a new fault since the work they carried out or an old issue. There is an problem with the tacho not working. I made them aware of this before they did the work to make sure this would not effect the modification. Its pretty frustrating! The owner of the business on the phone to me getting very upset telling me it's my car not their work! However now I am serious £££ down and own a defender with significantly less power than when I dropped it off. They are going to speak to Alive tomorrow to find a solution but it doesn't look good. Hopefully they can reprogram the ecu to original. They will probably come on here and see this eventually so I deliberately have not mentioned them as I want it resolved not to start a bitch fight. They made it clear over the phone that they are tuner only not mechanics!!! Not our responsibility blah blah. Lesson learnt though. So to make my life easier by choosing a local mod company looks like I've shot myself in the foot - when tuning use a mechanic. To make matters worse they put one of their bloody stickers on the back |

I'd ask them to strip and re-install all pipe work etc, if they carried out there engineering hygiene during the build they may have blocked off exposed pipe work etc to stop the ingress of dirt, if this was done with rags (as it often is) they may have left one in thus restricting air flow. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

G'Day Tomm, from Aussie.
The problem you have encountered is why I haven't gone down the same road,...if something "happened", as has happened to you, without any local backup I'd be stuffed. In your case, IMHO it wouldn't be the tune, I've heard nothing bad about Alive at all, but plenty of good. Pickles. |

Symptoms sound mechanical, but if they can't connect to the OBD port that's a doozy...
Not to stir the pot but maybe a reminder that the only OBD related things done between it working and not working were their doing is in order? Did it work at all your first drive out? A tune like that should be noticeable on the first clear stretch of road, pity you didn't get it back to them immediately. Sheeah, I don't envy you ! Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants... |

I have had a chat with the company you have been dealing with and it would seem there are a few other issues at play that we need to look at to identify what is going on here. Could i ask that you give me a call on 01472 812900 or PM me on here so we can discuss matters further. Lets find out exactly what the issue is and get you enjoying the Alive experience Alex Divers |
