Seems a cagey answer to the first question and a big but on whether they actually want it!
Have U.S. Land Rover dealers been consulted on what features need to be in the next version of the Defender? And is that vehicle confirmed for the U.S.? No comment on that. Do Land Rover dealers want the new Defender? We would love it. But it really depends on what the product will be and if it makes economic sense. New product is always welcomed by any retailer. http://www.autonews.com/article/20160401/R...w-vehicles |

Well now we are not under EU control, or more to the point soon I should say. Who knows what is possible in house in the UK.
We can build cars that's for certain. Pity and indipendant company doesn't make them, they wouldn't have the name though for obvious reasons. Of course you are talking big money though. Who knows, for now. |

We don't have to follow EU rules to make vehicles, we just have to follow the rules to sell them in the EU and that's not going to change depending on our membership.
That's why ROW spec vehicles existed, and why you can get Defenders without the DPF for export to outside the EU only. http://www.mod-sales.com/direct/vehicle/,1...Rover_.htm 2.2 Puma, for export outside the EU, originally built for NE Asia, EU2 emissions standards. http://www.mod-sales.com/direct/vehicle/,1...Rover_.htm Disco Sport, EU2 emmissions, intended for Azerbaijan. |

We did have 'E' marking for lighting etc, that is not just required in the EU but here too.
They have often tried to override Crown immunity. I think it'd only be a matter of time before certain vehicles would be banned too. VW got up to all sorts with emissions, being Germany based they should have been leading the way.. I strongly believe it would have got worse, as things stand we have freedom to do what we want now. |

And Tata Group will doubtless review whether it makes sense for them to keep manufacturing in (whatever will remain of) the UK or to move to Slovakia.

I can say that my local dealer has been consulted. They were all briefed on it at their last big LR dealer sales meetings. They know what's coming...to a point. Wheelbases, body configurations but they stop at that when I ask. LOL! |
