2013 2.2 puma 110.
Returned home and as usual to ensure transfer box linkages are in good order run the high low lever from high to low then back again to high. All ok as ever. Then tried to engage diff lock by moving lever to left and it just won’t move, not even a couple of mm, I can move to the right a little , about 5 -8mm but it simply won’t move to left. Tried while in high and in low, same issue in both. Jacked one front wheel off ground with handbrake on and wheel rotates, so assume diff is not locked as if so assume wheel would not rotate. Got underneath and grabbed linkage, feels like the linkage is not stuck. So wondering if it could be an issue with the transfer box Any ideas ? NB. Just found this https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic63365...ff+linkage so hopefully linkage just needs lubrication where it meets / pivots on transfer box, I will use some plus gas to see if that helps, then oil and grease if it does free up. I did do a couple of 200 mile motorway journeys over the weekend and not tried the diff lock until today, so the heat may have evaporated any lube that was there. |
